in hammonton some mexicans come into this town to the farms and some of them speak a different language its not spanish ....so i think they just became part of our civiliation

the mayans did not sacrifice children to gods, that was the aztecs who came much later and inherited the knowledge of these people as well as thier calenders... confusing mayans, olmecs totecs and aztec cultures as most people do is akin to confusing celts, picts, saxons and normans with modern britons...

The Mayans are partly right. 12-21-12 is the date when a special constelation(or some sort of anomaly) will appear and be visible from Earth (with telescopes). The Mayans believed this to be the gateway to heaven, where their gods would come through to earth to end the universe and begin time again.
