Yes, indeed. The musical range of the "Top 40" in the 1960's was much more diverse than is indicated in the playlists of today's "classic oldies" stations. I don't want to be negative, but when was the last time you've heard "Love Is Blue", a HUGE hit, on the radio?

You know what amazes me as I listen to this? This record was an honest-to-god Top 40 hit in 1962. It was on the charts right alongside the Four Seasons, the Beach Boys, Gene Pitney, Tony Bennet, and Nat Cole. 18 months later Beatlemania hit, and, in addition to the astonshing talent of the Fab Four, one could still hear all of the aforementioned, plus the Supremes, Roger Miller, and the Singing Nun. Today's "pop" radio sucks, not only because it's puerile, but because it's so... segmented.
