Seeing as it only takes one GE-90 to keep a 747 aloft...Maybe the AN225 would only need 2!!! Looks to me like they just wanted to one-up the US and build something bigger than the C5. You just got to love Russian aviation. Great vid.

To the person asking about the baked beans:The AN225 has a payload of 250 metric tonnes. Your average tin of Heinze Baked Beans is 415g. Therefore you could get 602,408 tins in a single payload.Nice plane by the way. |
