Walter Payton did carry the ball wrong, but just before impact with someone, you can see him tuck it up tight to his body so the person couldn't strip it.

I wouldn't think Sanders or Payton really cared who the better runningback is, so we shouldn't care either, they were both amazing players.

My goodness... with all due respect to all the other greats, Sweetness had the perfect blend of the best attributes of all the other greats, the agility of Sanders, the power of Brown, QB arm, superb route runner, soft hands, breakaway speed, crushing blocker. Thanks so much for posting this. I grew up in Chicago and watched him every Sunday. He was amazing to watch. He is missed.
