Sridevi received many state awards for her performance in the original version of Sadma, and Kamal received the national award for his ownderful acting in the climax scene, Sridevi again received in National Award and Filmfare Award nomination for the Bollywood version but she lost both the awards to her senior actress Shabana Azmi.

the movie is a remake of "moonram pirai" in tamil. amazing thing is the lead actors pulled off the same superb performances again in the hindi version. that is called acting. hats off!!.

One of original works and creativity in Indian Cinema. Though It was first made in Tamil with the same lead pair, the director of hindi version is also the same director of Tamil.
