Do you people realize that once all the oil has been burned only the people who invested in electric veichles will still be able to drive!!. Thats why I will eventually buy such a veichle when I have the cash. No dependence on anyone. I hate not being in control of my life. This car will do it. Buy a backup Lister generator as well and some solar panels to charge the car whilst waiting. Thank you.

Ok...are you stupid? A lot of normal gasoline-driven cars also can't start in below freezing temperatures. You know why? Cuz their gasoline is frozen.Ironic how you said "long live the big three!" cuz if you've read a newspaper recently they're dying :] And since you're a conservative(republican) you don't believe in gov intervention, laissez-faire the market will do its job! Who needs a bailout right? I'm sure the big 3 don't need it cuz them SUVs are selling like hotcakes!

You ALL crack me up...posting a video of my 2000 Ford Ranger EV NiMH...going on my sexond year of ownership..no issues last winter at ALL. Even crashed into a tree avoiding an old lady who "missed a stop sign" and drove it home...the big three could have offered electrics years ago...they don't WANT to

The "big three" manufacture SUV's and Jeeps in such large numbers because that's what people want to drive!"That's what people WANTED to drive, before gas prices went up, the economy down and more and more people are waking up from ignorant denial and realize that we have to do something about carbon emission.Personally though, as a tech-geek, this is the ultimate dream car for me. I hope they also make some cheaper TeslaMotors sedans in the future too.

Lead Acid batteries are a horrible choice; they are good for a temporary solution, but they are dangerous, heavier, don't hold as long of a charge, take longer to charge, and completely suck balls.The roadster can go faster, it is regulated at 125 mph because of the transmission. There was a EV-1 that went 186 mph.

What happens to the battery? Until these idiot liberals construct an electric vehicle that can operate during the winter, let alone drive through the snow, I'm sticking with my 17/22mpg Chrysler LHS.Long live the big three!
