The first time I hear about Stevie was round about 1983 when Ron Wood offers him to make music on his party. At that time I was thinking: what is proficient for Ronnie's party will be also good for my living room.So I buy the first album from SRV - 'Texas Flood' .It was incredible absolutly different from that music where i come from and the first notes from 'Pride And Joy' target straight into my balls.Thenceforward (I was 19 years old) I try to change my acting with guitar: change my guitar into a strat, make big and high bass-frets and 013 strings on it and became that sound i loved from Stevie...What I want to say is he revolutionise (in my opinion)blues guitar play in local bands and also to established Blues performer like Clapton. What makes SRV different i think is HOW he was playing bluenotes in terms of phrasing, rhythm and you know more and, of course you know it, his PASSION to his music and to other songs from different musicians...the last point is the reason why I'am doing this upload. Take a look on Stevies PASSIONand enjoy him!!Three live songs from Toronto's 'El Mocambo' in 1983:1. Wham!2. So Excited3. Tell Me

you people wonder about his height? What the fuck is wrong with you?He is a guitar player not a basketball player.I worry about how retarded people are sometimes who gives a fuck about his height he is a guitar giant

I'm a drummer but I watch this guy for inspiration. He shows how much is possible to get out of an instrument if you really put your heart in it. His time, feel and sound are as fine as I've heard from any musician, and if he'd wanted to play classical violin he could have rivaled the best players even in that genre.

Like all the greats

It doesn't matter how tall he really was(is). The man was a MONSTER with the guitar. I could care less if he was a midget, his music speaks 4 itself.

Bassest Tommy Shannon is 6' 4" so do you height comparisons of SRV based on that......You know I love playing and listening to the blues and have seen them all........Collins, Waters, Guy, the Kings Albert, BB, Freddie and a host of other greats........everyone a gem in the world of blues........but I will say that the intensity, tone and power of SRVs licks are unique, you just know when it is Stevie playing a riff........a testiment to SRV's commitment to the craft. He is so missed.....

God took him as the last shovelful of dirt was laid upon his grave

Well I doubt there's anything left of Stevie by now. So I guess we'll just have to keep wondering

Yeah, but I've heard rumors he was wearing cowboy boots. Truth is, we'll never know unless the vaughan family wants to exhume his remains to satisfy our needs.
