Of course they can and usually do :-)But they are 4 or 5 gaited horses so they have walk, trot, gallopp and additionally tolt and flying pace which is mostly shown in this video...Its great fun riding them

It's not called a rack in Icelandics- it's called a tolt. They also have the flying pace

these horse are gaited. In the video they are shown racking, and what we call speed racking. They also have the normal horse gaits walk, trot, canter.

i have a question if anyone could answer. Do icelandic horses all "prance" like that?? Can they lope and trot and run etc. like a quarterhorse or some other type??

i have been riding since 12 of you compare it like cars the big horses can go on much speed but there is a lot more power in these horses icelandics thenthe big ones i would like to see a someone from us ride a horse from here not for beginners at least the big ones stop thats the only + i see in them
