estivus'Judaism has remained consistent in achieving it's aims.'i wouldn't consider the near extinction of the jewish race as a positive! also, commenting on a video where the jewish wise man is flattened by an atheist doesn't do your PR work for judaism much good either!

estivus'the number of Jewish intellectuals is far out of proportion relative to the world Jewish populace.'you could say that about white europeanss during the industrial revolution, but that could be seen as racist! judaism, like any religion is fatally flawed by it's 'invisible friend' inception. the culture of judaism is diverse and produces terrorists as well as maths geniuses. keep the good bits, forget the silly bits and hey presto you have atheism!

That could equally be evidence of evolution, there is absolutely no evidence this has anything whatsoever to do with a deity! It's funny you mention ego, you're not jewish yourself are you?

Not at all. Judaism has remained consistent in achieving it's aims.Firstly, there is evidence that the practice of Judaism, over time, generated a unique minority race (namely, the Ashkenazim of the Rhineland, from which the likes of Marx and Einstein were spawned).Secondly, the number of Jewish intellectuals is far out of proportion relative to the world Jewish populace. There are many of these irregularities in Jewish history, if one takes the time to place aside his ego and look.

bodcheers. we are all intrigued about origins and trying to make sense of the world. the danger with organised religions is their tendency to look back to a mythological golden age, not forward to a possible better way!

Indeed. The old system is obsolete. But many cling to it still.

It's all good. I like to discuss these things and I believe the more open discussion people have the better.

...it's possibly a comforting, bonding instinct that is now out of control due to dogma and tradition. just like baby monkeys in labs are drawn to hug any inanimate furry object we cling to the ultimate protector. ironically, it is humans that protect god in the long run! |
