I was 11 years old when Jim Reeves was in oslo, together with Anita Kerr singers , Bobby Bare and Chet Atkins.Just a few months later he was killed in a planecrash. Since that day Country music has been my favorite. Jim Reeves will allways be one of my favorite, With his elegant voice. At that time they played real country. George Strait and Alan Jacksons song Murder on music row has true words. Today it is to much Rock in the industrie.

I dated a girl back in the mid-60's who was big fan of "Gentleman" Jim Reeves. Our birthdays were 6 months apart, so when hers rolled around, I asked her what she wanted for her birthday and she requested a Jim Reeves LP. I don't remember which album I purchased for her, but I can now see and HEAR how smooth and mellow and comforting his voice is. I've been listening to his gospel songs this morning also. What gentle, "Blessed Assurance" in his voice.
