"You come in slow, which reduces your downthrust" In all my years of flying and being involved in aviaiton I've never heard anything like that before. Care to explain?

If the video was posted in the same week it was taken I was in Europe in about the same week and over period of 3 days there was 100km/h winds coming from the North Sea. I was flying from Munich to Frankfurt on an Airbus A320, about half the size of the jumbo, and it was more sideways than that coming into land.... I was sitting in the very back seat "A" and my adrenalin was pumping....white knuckle fever.... I could see the runway clearly without "craning" my neck to look fwd's thru the portal.
