No way! GTP uses Guanin as base compound, which is far rather used for cell signalling than energy carrying.

I was meaning that you could use either GTP or ATP it really didn't matter. I was having another conversation with someone else and should have clarified. In some places people use ATP (we use that for our examples here) GTP Guanosine and ATP Adenosine it doesn't make a whole lot of difference when explaining Glycolysis. So I was meaning that they are the exact same thing where placed in the examples.
