Sorry, I got a little ahead of myself and was thinking of the galilean moons. Anyway, it is still extremely stupid and childish to think that this small probe left a huge mark on the surface, and that somehow cassini is going to hit saturn and make it a star.

pingletons, You need to do some research before you start calling others stupid. The Galileo spacecraft's 14 year odyssey came to an end on Sunday. Sept. 21, 2003 when the spacecraft passed into Jupiter's shadow then disintegrated in the planets dense atmosphere at 11:57am pacific daylight time. There, now you are a little more educated. Whatever you are seeing is not Galileo.

Are you joking, our are you truly stupid? I can see Galileo with my telescope right now; it hasn't gone anywhere.

teaching children how to read would be a better future for us all.

many of the things that make your life easier and more comfortable come from the space program i'd hope you people know. everything from plastics and metal alloys to memory foam and engine technology. I'll gladly spend my tax dollars on the space program over anything political any day. This is the knowledge we need to know to understand the things around us more. and we all know knowledge is power.
