Thank you very much!The piece is called "Doctone". Based on a lick by BMQ pianist Kenny Kirkland.Doctone was a nickname of Kenny Kirkland. When a soloist played some wrong notes, Kenny made them sound right by playing voicings in which the sounds would fit in: Doc of tones.Kenny passed away in 1998. In 1999 the Branford Marsalis Quartett toured (with new Pianoman: Joey Calderazzo) in Germany together with the Joshua Redman Group.
