That was one of the most ingenious and risky things any producer in Hollywood could have ever done. Funny how risky things are what makes those producers successful in the first place... oh yeah, and their genius.

i wonder how long it will be be until you can take all of the work ever recorded by brando and created a audio libery, then made a programe to mimmic any word, sound, lip movement and facial expression.

Still, what they do here looks much better than what was seen 13 years ago with 'Forrest Gump.' The lip replacements and manipulations when you look at those now, seem rather 'poppy.'

I agree, in part. I think the reason they went through all the trouble of recreating his face in 3D, was to update the quality of the footage. Think about it, the film is 30 years old, & would be a huge contrast between the quality of film today. They would have to hide his face much more if they, in fact kept the original footage as it was.

I hope Brando returns in Superman: Man Of Steel

So they go through all the trouble of making the 3D Brando head as realistic as they can, with textures, hand-painting, etc., and what do they do with it? Hide it within a crystal that distorts the image and has enough glares to undo all the effort that went into making it. What a waste. |
