man this music is better than anyone else playing it. BRAVO BRAVO BRAVO HEIFETZ! I wish i was there and it was live. This piece played by heitfez is better than watching T.V.

Listen to Heifet'z 1957 recording with Reiner and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, it's much better than this video, and in my opinion, the best recording of the Tchaikovsky violin concerto ever made.

besides, if it were not personal emotions, how would you describe one's ability to stop playing momentarily, while others play in during that part, i.e. heifetz's solo. Some people would play during a period of time within the solo, while others may pause. It's your own development of emotion. Im not saying that Tchaikovsky wrote this piece without thinking, but one himself creates emotion that is at least 60 percent of the whole piece.

sure, you need a great mind to idealize the notes, but how did you think Tchaikovsky wrote this piece? By improvising? No, he rewrites his music, unlike mozart, where he hardly corrects. Tchaikovsky wrote this piece from what he learned, then he forced upon other players to bring their perspective of emotion. Every person has different views. It is still a piece of scale, and because he plays his own variations, thus creating his OWN emotions, not Tchaikovsky's.

I just finished watching both and I agree.Oistrakh's is version better...definitely more emotional.

personally i think Oistrakh's version better... i think heifetz loses some of the emotion in this piece by playing it fast, though of course it takes much more skill...
