Also the way the video presents the trial of Socrates suggests that Plato's Apology (defence speech) is accepted as historical truth. In fact it is a highly questionable source in that there are several different versions of Socrates' defence speech that differ.

This presents a rather idealised Socrates. For example Socrates was perceived by the Athenians to be one of the sophists. (eg Arist. Clouds) The distinction we have inherited between Socrates and the others comes from Plato. Although Plato's motives have never been satisfactorily clear, he is in no sense a conventional Athenian. Plato is not even democratic. Furthermore the documentary uses a lot of conjecture about what Socrates felt, and other things that can in no way be assuredly known.
