And Mario Lanza too, you could hear the voice he was to become in those very early recordings, but he was a later bloomer compared to Bjorling, still started rather early though. Bjorling sang as treble however so the technique was set and he only had to modify it to suit his adult voice.

Kind of surprising he was recording for a major label like HMV already when he hadn't made his operatic debut until age 19.

There are also some early recordings of a very young Jerome Hines posted here as well. Obviously he was quite unpolished at 17 but you could still identify him by the timbre of the voice just as you can here with Bjoerling.

Sorry, I don't have that one by Bjoerling, but it is available from Amazon on two different CD's. I wish I had a larger music budget. I am of course familiar with it in English by John McCormack ... one of my favorites!

This is lovely singing.I know there is an equally pleasing recording of him singing The Sunshine Of Your Smile in Swedish,also when he was very young,-would you,by any chance have that one bmcneese45a?.
