I love how people give the thumbs up to posts like this like it makes it fact, what you stated here is incorrect. The UK has a far lower rate of crime than the US--FAR, FAR LOWER. Our classification of crimes is different. We in the UK class all levels of crime in our reports whereas the US focus on extremely serious crime (it's worth pointing out murder is the most prominent in the US and the least prominent in the UK). Do not purpetuate ignorance just to feel better about your country.

The blog you copied & pasted that information from is incorrect. It uses FBI crime records vs The Sun tabloid newspaper! Also, definitions of "violent crime" are different in the US & UK. In the US, kicking, punching etc are not included as "violent crime" wheras in the UK it is; hence the huge difference in reported crime. Please do your research--approx 89 people are shot dead daily in the US, thats more than in a year in the UK. Your assertion is simply not true. |
