Great video!I've read that women lighting the Shabbat candles had something to do with women bringing light into the home and to the family. Any thoughts on that?

Thanks. Basic religious significance is the idea of hidur mitzvah (I have a video on this idea) to do extra to honor God-hallah is enriched bread

Hope you are well Rabbi,Glad to see new videos.i bought challah today. it's been a while, I try to avoid too much bread. Does it have any religious significance or it just tastes good? I didn't hear any mention of it except suggestion to purchase it.

I love the way you say that "if you do nothing else at least light the Shabbat candles"... then you go on to say, "if you are already doing that say the blessing over wine and why not get a couple of challahs and say the blessing", etc. It sounds easy, and it is!I started with just the Shabbat candles and it was an easy jump from there to move forward with the rest of the Mitzvot. Thank you, I loved this video. |
