We really didn't. Iran did all the work and we became an Iraqi proxy after the 1979 revolution. We have caused Iran so much misery, even ousting a democratically elected goverment by installing The Shah in the 1950s, allowing the British Petroleum Company to get us oil at extreme discount prices.I don't "love" Iran, but respect it and am sympathetic towards it and in the last 30 years it has been through a lot. My next door neighbor when I was a child was Iranian and she was a great play-date.

I'm so SICK AND TIRED of anti-Americans! And you know the funny part, if sh*t hit the fan you know in your heart of hearts that the US would be there for Europe in your time of need. That we'd be fighting along side you even though for all these years Europe has been bashing us. So hate us all you want but I still love Britian IN SPITE of you, UKrNOTCOWARDS...you are.

We DID destroy their army in not too long of a time, it wasn't days, but we DID do it...and yeah Bush's battle plan was dumb, at best. He just wanted to get to the capital in as short of a time as possible as you said...And on a side note, if you think we're cowards then you must think that the UKrCOWARDS too because our militaries are set up almost exactly the same, we fight the same wars, we're on the same side!

No. It took weeks or a month or two, or three. All I really remember is Bush's "Mission Accomplished" speech, and that Keith Olberman closes every one of his shows with "It has been (X) days since 'Mission Accomplished' in Iraq".Wiki "Battle of Umm Qasr" and you will see how long we actually took this time around against the depleted, weak, and burnt-out Republican Guard/Iraqi Army.We're still not properly extending our thanks to Iran for making everything easy and who did most of the work.

tommytmt,And do you know why Russia didnt have to deal with insurgency?Its because Russia went straight for Georgians military 101.They fought like all powerful nations fight.USA's plan in Iraq was to get to Iraqs capital as quickly as possible and aviod all fighting on the way.So no USA didnt destroy Iraqs army in days.Its still fighting.The only difference is it has no chain of command. So they pop out of any where and every where.

I'm not sure if you're aware but scientists are now saying the Georgia is actually NOT THE SAME as Iraq. Iraq we were dealing with insurgency(ie. people popping up out of nowhere, attacking then blending back into the population),we defeated Iraq's army in a matter of days just like Russia did in Georgia, except Russia didn't have to deal with insurgency, we did. We all saw how Russia did in Afganistan. If Russia was in Iraq they would be doing NO better than we are, in fact probably much worst.
