What is the reason for mandating that one cannot carry a weapon concealed? Will it reduce crime? No, because those that wish to break the law will carry one concealed if they want. However, there is a chance that a law abiding citizen will use his concealed weapon to prevent or stop crime. There is also the deterrent factor. A criminal will be less likely to commit crime if someone is possibly carrying a gun.

The reason behind concealed carry is that first of all it is your right and second it is your choice whether you want to be in a position or not to defend yourself. If you are happy to leave your own self defese up to a 3rd party that is your choice, but if you want to be able to protect yourself instead of hoping help arrives, that too is your choice. I don't like guns, but I understand if we let them take or minimize any of our rights than none of the other rights are safe either.
