However, all the cabinets are part of the regime so there is no change anyways.

That explains why the communist never show concrete evidence, just always saying they have evidences but rarely show it. When the communist are criticed they always say come to Vietnam to see the real situation, but when people arrived to Vietnam to investigate they are suddenly banned and kick out by secret police. The best logic I ever seen....NOT

This is why the republican party rejects SOCIALISM becuase it will destroy a people FREE stuff is not FREE...it enslaves one to feed another instead of allowing for the able bodied to survive and feed from their own hands. American conservatism reigns supreme over ALL types of govenermnt tried in all of time.

I agree with Thaii how the communist do try and make it seem as though they are providing freedom and civil rights to the people. It has gotten to the point where they have lost all dignity. So many civilians are trying so hard to make a living day by day, trying to surpass all what has happened or is happening to their country . I am Vietnamese-American and I have high hopes for Vietnam. I know that with faith and knowing there is hope, Vietnam will become a better country some day.

they are all brainwashed by the vietcong, especially the interview with that lady when she said people are making fun about vietnam, i think these people are making fun about the gov. not the people.

dbzerbardock. did you live in vn? or do u just read stuff and do your research in which the commis put out for you to know? you are right about our economy getting better, but that only means that anyone that is in the party is dong well from it and not the people.

Vietnam has proper elections. And FYI, not ALL candidates are from the Communist party; some run as independents!Given that they have (at least nominally) democratic system, do you really think that someone will go to jail for JUST reading about democracy? My guess: he probably did a lot more, which the "oh-so-unbiased" reporter didn't want us to know because it wouldn't make for a good story.[ie. you're stupid, ClamL, because you think inside the box. Go do some proper research.]
