The Musicality of Martial Solal is only second to the Brazilian Genius HERMETO PASCOAL, but on the piano, he is one of the greatests of all time. For sure! It´s incredible that America never gave the value he deserves. Why ? because he is french ?

The french Art Tatum. I had the privilege of seeing him live at the Vanguard where he celebrated his 80th brithday. I even managed to get an autograph from him. After seeing him, no other pianist except Tatum provoques that particular reaction in me.

Tout a fait d'accord . Mais si on aime un morceau interprété par solal on aimera pas Solal . Peterson , lui avait un style précis mais s'ouvrez beaucoup plus . Ainsi , sur un concert , Peterson jouait du stride , du be bop , du blues etcccBolling est un excellent technicien meme si on ne peut pas comparer bolling et solal c'est sur !...

Je pense que il y a bien peu de pianistes de jazz aussi originales que Martial Solal!
