With all due respect General, moving forward into a sphere of regional stability in the middle east requires an effort on the part of someone somewhere at sometime. Political agendas dont always appeal to the man with the gun, willing to eliminate life, control does. Strategic accountability requires the US to help secure hope their. Allowing tyranny to continue is bad news for the world.

The man is right. The US and EU are partners in the desire to stabilise the region. At the moment the EU cannot support present US policy. It is the wrong policy because it is not primarily a political one. Bushetal are making the same mistake that Thatcher et al made in North of Ireland. They treated IRA terrorism as a security issue. It was only when the Brits switched policy to a political one did the NI agrement take place. Bush is a boy playing with toy soldiers, a very dangerous boy.

How do you pull out the troops and leave the equipment there? he makes the point that no one wants the americans to leave, this by the way includes the so called insurgents and he fails to mention this, how else could they be so costly to the americans.. off course they would all want u.s. to return including the chinese and the ressuians, have they not done so well inspite and in fact on account of this?

the presidents elect must be water-boarded, interrogated and confessed to SEE TO IT THE NATIONAL SECURITY COUNCIL ARE DRAGGED THROUGH THE COURTS FOR IN HISTORY'S INFAMY AND HANG BY THE NECK UNTIL DEAD. THEY MUST SWING AND BETTER STILL SWING TO A MAN. Listen to the feeble whine of this dog- HIS NEED TO BREATH IS HIGHLY OVER-RATED- they must be made to SWING FOR 9/11

General Odom is absolutely right on this. Bush's misplaced idealogies have sunk this country to the level of a primitive warrior nation with schoolboy bully tactics. It's impossible to ignore the administration's emphasis on Iraq (to the exclusion of other terribly opressed nations) without coming back to the realisation that it's related to oil. Remember Iraq had no part in 9/11 and had no weapons of mass destruction.
