Man I PLAY THE DOUBLE BASS !!!! I have A YAMAHA SILENT BASS AND YES WHAT HES PLAYING DURING THE SOLO IS CALLED SLAP...In classical music yes there pizzicato and arco but in Jazz man its either your pulling the strings or your slapping them

It isn't "slap" and "that thing" is a Double bass. The technique he is using is called "pizzicato".

Getz takes a hackneyed old tune and invests it with sheer magic. Kenny Barron is no slouch either. The older Getz got the better he seemed to play. Terrific, warms my soul. Thank you for posting. |
