i think he's a true visionary extraordinaire...not only because he can say fcuk off to hollywood but he can create a unique palette of colors that enhanced the storyline in unprecedent way and tha's what art should do to you. I was blown away when i saw in the mood of love.

He is Autistic. To be a Genius (in any field), you have to have Asperger's. Just look how he mentions textures of the set that give a sense of the mood? Only Autistic people notice their surroundings like that. Energy, feelings, story.... as opposed to mindless car chaises and gratuitous sex and violence of your usual bloockbusters. He's an 'Andy Warhol' of cinematography, no doubt.

c doesn't have to be "beautiful" - it has to add an extra layer to what the story is saying. The acfors do not have to be "beautiful" either - they ahve to be right for the script. The story is everything. If you want "beautiful", you'll have to watch RomComs all day long where everything is "perfect" (I'd personally feel sick from all that "beauty" that says NOTHING about the real world we live in).
