look with rtw they focused on a particular period meaning they could put in realistic battles etc. Civ on the other hand covers all periods of man kind obviously that means that they cant put in as much detail true.

I had both games, and yea I think Total Rome is a better game in some aspects, but civilization is pretty good Strategy, and I think RTW is not just a good strategy
