I try to look at it this way: Now there are two "Allman Brothers Bands", one led by Gregg Allman and Warren Haynes, and one led by Dickey Betts. But still, it's not quite the same. No doubt, Gregg Allman wrote almost all of the band's early originals, but Dickey Betts practically wrote the whole of "Seven Turns" and "Back Where It All Begins", and most of their post-Duane material back in the 70s as well. Like Haynes or not, but him and Betts together, that was one great Allman Brothers Band.

Dickey betts is one of most amazing in history. One of greatest guitar solo and song. Saw him at count basie theater best show ive been to so far Shook his hand!

dickie betts is pure soul. He is such a skilled gift. One of the sweetest blues voices with the sickest guitar skills. He is so underated in the world of rock. Southern rock is king . so f ing great makes u fell at home whatever/wherever u are doing / u are. Cheers D. B you are sooo sick

Exactly. If you're born in the industry, its all you know. It's not fair to measure him with Waylon. Shooter is his own artist.I'm sure he thinks Hank Jr rode coattails too.
