also, they express their feelings through the power of music. music usually tells a story. and those that don't i won't class as real music. even songs/music without lyrics can tell a bigger story than those with lyrics.

But i'm not here to argue with you cause i think you made a good point and i agree that coming from a musical standpoint i know kids in my highschool band that could play his music better than he can(he's always sharp and his tone is terrible on a lot of songs) but i don't think he is a sell out or is just in it for the money because i think he likes the music he plays

Well if everyone were to go by your perspective then the beatles, rolling stones, led zeppelin, michael jackson prince, would all be considered nothing but a bunch of sell outs, regardless of what music style you play in order to sell 50 million copies the music has to be somewhat good i mean you could argue that every artist that sells alot of records is in it for the money and is a sell out when the truth is you still have to put hard work to make your music listenable to the public

Real musicians aren't trying to get Grammys or make it to some hall of fame. They compose music because that what they do. Kenny G's number one motive for "composing" "music" is to make a lot of money. The majority of the population doesn't appreciate/understand what true music is. They are too influenced by what pop culture tells them is "cool" to listen to.
