Virus sounds a little plastic, Waldorf a little metalic for me, the Andromeda sounds 100% analogic.

I had a V-Synth and an Andromeda side by side at one point, they complemented each other very nicely. I got a bit pissed off with the sound quality of the V-Synth though, so it went. It's a shame, cos like you say, it's a real sample mangler, very easy to use, and encourages real hands on interaction with the sound (time trip pad anyone?). Like you say, comparing the V-Synth and Andromeda is kinda pointless - they're so very different.

Add to that a Unison X and you can soon realize that the TI doesn't hold a candle.

A real artist can care less about who used what.

i have just bought a new one for just under £1400. so $3000 would be about right.it is worth every penny and more.i was going to buy a jupiter 8 if i could find one but i think in my opinion this is better and will be a classic in years to come.my advise is to buy one now while you can as these will definatly become collectors items just like the jp8.hope this helps with your decision.all the best.

I have a lot of analogs, I think its not better than moog mini or voyager, jupiters, synthex, obxa, ob-8, monopoly, polysix (pads) as i use them all. Perhaps better than my AX-73 and matrix-1000 (dco). But it is the best -value for money-solution if you want an analog synth that can do everything. Not good choice if you have all analogs range.

how much can you buy one of these for? i have seen around $3000. is that accurate? |
