Great guitar-playing, very evocative and even emotional. I like the bluesy take. My biggest problem is that it took almost FIVE MINUTES before anything resembling Silly Love Songs was heard. When the singing started, the lyrics seemed to be an afterthought, just laying there, without any tie to the music. I'm not expecting you to pull Linda McCartney out for backing lyrics, but I was expecting Silly Love Songs, a shred of melody, a chord progression, SOMETHING. Great music, horrible cover. |
