Probably ones who were concerned about the most advance planes of the day - like a DC3 or something - I'm amazed the size planes they land on runways that were NEVER meant for aircraft the size of a 737 or 747

I'd like to know which genious decided to look around and say "Let's build an airport here"

Looks like they moved some of the earth in the approach area to make it less formidable? Good idea. SHEESH!

I've had connecting flights in Tegucigalpa and the approach is really interesting. You are sure to ask yourself why you are so close to the hills and why the plane is still twising and turning even when it is almost over the runway. Turbprops like the Short 360 and the ATR42 do an awesome job landing here but reverse thrust is the secret.

I like how he say's "Thats not fun, i dont like this one" Tells you how complicated it is to land here, now im assuming that this is imposible to land in bad weather or very low visivility tooooooo risky.I am impressed, Blown away, makes the old hong kai tak airport look easy.

depending on what model 737 this is, the approach speed is between 130 and 145 knots, and the wheels touch the runway at around 120 knots. (220-230 kph or 130-140 mph)real hairy approach there - respect for the pilots who put her down safely. =)
