Absolutely love this song. Worked in provincial park (Canada) in the late 60s and every Saturday night we had a camp fire sing-along (hootenanny, we used to call them). I was the leader and this song was one of our most-requested. Along with "Lemon Tree" by Trini Lopez, "Micheal, Row Your Boat Ashore" by many artists, and "Koombaya", etc.Don't think I can play them anymore - arthitis, ya' know.wonderful memories!

Tom Dooley was called Tom Dula. His grave is about 50 miles from my mother. His grave is 20 miles south of Wilkesboro NC. The grave is not marked anymore due to vandalism |
