Aliens come here due to curiosity. If Aliens see a unique planet floating in space, then they would likely visit it and eventually enter its atmosphere. You stated, why would they want to come here, we're just gonna destroy ourselves anyway. But don't they have to come here and observe our planet first, in order for them to know that we are destroying ourselves???

government cover up? personally, i think the government is aware of more things than we will ever know, and its good that we are kept in the dark. frankly there are some realities that most people aren't prepared to deal with. and besides, why would aliens want to come here, we're just gonna destroy ourselves anyway
