The video card won't die after 60 days. That was an opinion. What I recommend for a graphics card for Windows Vista is at least a graphics card with 64MB vRAM, such as an ATI RADEON X200 or nVidia Ge-Force 6100. The two are some of the most lowest end graphics cards, BUT, they will support Aero just fine.I have an ATI RADEON X1100 with 64MB vRAM and it supports Aero like nothing! You did see my custom Compaq Presario then right? Then you should already know lol.

thats pretty cool, but what will it do ? My P3 has 850mhz and 512 ram. It will run aero, dreamscene, burn dvds, I am trialing office 2007 and works well. I can get a 300mmx with 512 to start vista, then take out 256 and start, but it is seless. Weneed to show "usefll" computers to give poor people with P3s enough information to make an informed dicission, not just lay games with smoke and mirrors. I can also download @ 156 KB/s it is as fast a any computer on the net.

good point, that point i did not consider, he probably did overclock it, i have a p4 1.7 ghz and it runs vista slower than that!

jet, Also, Celeron's are known for their ability to stay reasonably cool when overclocking.

Yes, I know. But, you can disable the themes and the extra eye candy, and it will run just fine as a basic operating system and do pretty what you need to do on it. Trust me, I have experimented loads(I have a shop to myself with many work stations, fun stuff.) with all the diff builds, and I usually get some interesting results. :D

not true. windows vista ultimate lite still has all the graphical features but has taken all un needed things out like administrative permission to run a program etc..

this proves that a celeron cpu isn't that bad... |
