Very good and adequate comment. Ships have a soul and some of them never die.

Sadly have you ever noticed that most of mankind's most beautiful creations ARE weapons?

Bismark, Yamato, Iowa, Hood. These werent just assembled pieces of steel, weapons and iron. They where the embodiment of the nation's that built them. Not the goverments that placed the orders to lay their keels, but the spirit of the people of THOSE nations that built them, manned them and in some cases died with them.

No man has the right to say this ship would of been destroyed etc by another ship, Most ships never came up against Each other and never will. Yes, you may argue with the facts and numbers but its really down to what happens on the day. Its like in Football. Holland Have an amazing team on paper but when it comes to them playing on the field. The tend to pretty poor. We will never Know. Small things can change the entire outcome of a battle. For example (british handling of ammo on warships)

I drew a reproduction of the painting at the opening of the video. It took me six hours, but I was able to get every last bit of detail on one of my favorite WWII ships. Beautiful ship with an amazing fear factor. Too bad it had to be built under the leadership of the bastard Hitler.

I've seen hundreds, if not thousands of ships, and I got to tell you, I'd be scared shitless if I saw the Bismark on the horizen. |
