Wrong on the song was inspired by a belly dancer on tour. The tour happened after the record was made. There was a belly dancer in the video filmed in Morocco for the single. Indeed, the SECOND dancer on the ZOO TV tour, Morleigh, married Edge.

This song also clearly has meaning taken from Oscar Wilde's Salome - Salome is the belly dancer from Herod's court who demanded the beheading of John the Baptist as payment. But this song does have a secular meaning: hot women move mysteriously. The song has double-entendre, very ambiguous, as Bono said when describing this song: "I've always believed that the spirit is a feminine thing."

I'm glad so see some other intelligent life-forms out there. Yep, Edge married her, she was also the corriographer of the stage show for that tour.

And the Belly Dancer is now Edge's wife :D |
