You need hands the size of shovels first! Apparently, Tal could stretch over 7 frets easily and look how that thumb wraps around the bass strings; no effort at all. He gave up playing for a number of years in the height of his career, to go back to 'Sign-writing'. Reckoned most of the music jazzmen played had been explored to the full and it needed a new slant. Hence 'smooth jazz'. Maybe?

I love tal but I agree that he is playing to many chord changes in there like some keyboard players I know. It does take away from the smooth melody But what the heck he's Tal if that's what he's feeling right now so be it.I'm pretty sure he probally does not play it the same every time.
