Herbert von Karajan was actually in the audience for this performance. He went backstage afterwards and said the following words to Otto Klemperer: "I hope I shall live to conduct the Funeral March as well as you have done." What an incredible honor that tribute must have been to receive!

Just google Eroica and than you"ll find out: its Beethoven! check out "Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie", there is another great recording of this piece!

I love this, I've been trying to find out who composed this piece forever. I only had the first 3 minutes and it's been driving me crazy for the past five years. It may sound morbid, but this is the music I want played at my funeral. So powerful. This composer was truly a master.
