I am glad you said "to me, it has not happened yet." Madilu, Josky, Veve Verckys, Malage, Faya Tess, Lokassa Ya Mbongo, Nyboma, Felix Wazekwa and many more think the time is now, and the "when" is happening now. If you called the shot Shiko would still be an unknown name!

Does Madilu respect Lutumba, well that's a different debate. But, if Madilu uses Lutumba as a reference of greatness in Congolese music, I think it's an indication of high respect.

With a clean heart, let me say that Madilu was talking about guitarists composers. Since I saw the interview from top to bottom, I will say that Josky said the same thing. Malage went on to saying even more about how he left school to go to Shiko's home in Bandale to sing. I mean, this is history, let's learn from the real people themselves, they're alive!

Does Madilu respect Lutumba? Why did he try to take TP OK Jazz away from him? As for Malage, I still stand by my statement.

Madilu cannot think highly of Lutumba otherwise he would not compare him with a musician like Shiko. The gap is too big. In between you have people like Josky, Ntesa, Pompon Kuleta, Bimi Ombale, Bozi Boziana, Koffi Olomide, etc who are all great composers in their own right. When did Shiko jump them and come to close to Lutumba. Many people will tell you that Lutumba was a greater composer than even Franco was...Madilu is talking bullshit.

Well, we do have an interview by Malage de Lugendo himself saying that. It will be on Youtube pretty soon. Who is better situated than Madilu to talk about Shiko and Lutumba? Well, Josky is saying the same thing. Frere Edouard is also a work by him, Zabolo sung by Pepe Kalle also is a contribution by this young man. Let's give credit when credit is due!

Shiko did NOT discover Malage..AND Madilu is talking bullshit when he compares Shiko to Lutumba Simaro.. or is it that Madilu thinks he owes Shiko too much for all the junk Shiko has composed for him. Shiko is a decent guitarist, and composer of decent songs. Please tell me one classic song Shiko has composed. A classic is song like Propriataire, Kita Mata Bloque, Boma Ngai Naboma Yo, Ibeba.. if you cannot,then I close my case. By the way Leau does not count. |
