Truly a once in a lifetime event! The spectators were on the edges of their seats in excitement the whole third period. After watching all the games it was as though we knew each player personally, and when Eruzione scored it was bedlam. Craig was spectacular and after the final 10 second countdown it was pandemonium in the rink.....I'll never forget it and have never seen anything like it. Hockey's finest hour!

Crazy to see goalie equipment size back then, especially Tretiak's. So small. The good old days. If only we could really reduce it now. But of course the PA is gonna lobby against any significant change to protect position-style goalies who benefit most from being big in front of the net.

You're wrong. This moment marks the beginning of the modern political era. The chant USA! USA! begins here. Without this victory there would have been no Regan revolution, no 9/11 and... no Sarah Palin.

I was there in the arena that night and watching that game, and the final game, were the most exciting moments in sports history!! I still get goosebumps when I see it 28 years later!!!

Just finished watching the film 'MIRACLE' this is a fantastic story I dont agree with zbone12 comment about it being the greatest moment in american history. But from the world of sport it most definatley is up there with the greatest- apart from when England beat Germany in 1966, but thats just me being biast.

I remember, we weren't on the edge of seats for this one... we were on the carpet on all fours yelling and screaming every time the puck hit a stick - or didn't. pounding on the floor and then going complete apesh*t when it ended... so , so cool... I still get goosebumps watching!

Ahhh, got it, Danno, Thanks! I can watch this all night. LOL I was 17 when this happened and even now at 46, it is still just as exciting! Love Chaplin's child like enthusiasm. He called the game just as any other every day fan watching the game would have called it. Fantastic stuff! |
