There is no weak link in this quartet. It doesn't hurt that Wayne Shorter is a master composer either. There are so many layers and intense counterpoint; virtually no rest for anyone after the orchestral intro. An incredible piece!

I still can't get enough of Brian Blade's scream at the apex of Wayne's 'solo'! Sums up the intensity of the whole thing; it's kind of tension AND release all at the same time: superb.Saw the quartet in London earlier this year, and I've got to say I'd need several more listens of the concert to understand a fraction of what was going on: larger-forms, less hook-based (if that's possible!); incredibly deep stuff.
