I don't know about elitist, I am not the one saying that hostpitol workers are incapable of making their own decisions.(unless they used mind control devices or pehaps promised ponies...) However, you are correct that I was not there and I am sorry your personal hopes have been smashed. I shall not be responding again in hopes that I do not contribute further to your illness.

What makes me ill is that I'm pretty sure you actually believe what you're saying! Maybe if you met one of these hospital workers, who has been courageously fighting to organize a union for three years, you'd have a more informed and less academic, less elitist take on this. And, nobody voted. They were about to, when the CNA/NNOC sent 30+ paid organizers to tell workers how to vote. Democracy? I think not. Workers were about to make their own choice, CNA/NNOC thought they knew better.

@damickOh. All of that might bother me if I considered seiu a union. Those 8000 people were not denied a union, they exercised bottom up workplace democracy and voted not to afilliate. The IWW is all about non- hieraricle work place democracy and we don't need "saviors". Every Wob is an organiser. The Industrial Worker stated no position on the seiu vs. CNA/NNOC conflict. No one Worker speaks for the IWW, including myself. Lastly, Fellow Worker, You do not make me sick in the least... :)

Rose Ann Demoro and CNA/NNOC ran a "vote NO" campaign when 8000 Ohio hospital workers were about to vote to have a union with SEIU. Unless the Wobs have changed without me knowing, that's still called "union-busting." Then Labor Notes invited Rose Ann to be the KEY NOTE SPEAKER at their conference. Is it hard, then, for you to understand why someone would consider it a union-busting conference? Celebrating the DENIAL of unions for 8000 people is backward and wrong. You people make me sick.

I was reading in the Industrial worker (the I.W.W.'s News paper) That some of the seiu folks did not even know where they were going when they were herded onto the buses.(they were told it was a union busting confrence!)

Very accurate video. SEIU routinely violates the principles of democratic unionism in order to make antiworker deals with corporations and politicians, selling out workers' rights and suppressing the members' voice. I observed this first hand in the public sector in Colorado. While there are some good locals of SEIU, the dictatorial leadership of Andy Stern is turning SEIU into a pro-management company union. Stern's raw power grab is a very bad thing for the labor movement.
