i as trying to pay attention and learn something from (or at least enjoy) this stupid video. but the dorky, nerdy, stupid, long-winded, annoying voice of the narrator prevented all that. i still no idea what this is about because i keep getting distracted by my urge to viciously and repeatedly punch my computer screen and make it stop-the ghoul

You recognize the imperfection of the teachers thus the teachings in the bible, but you trust Jesus. What would be the main point of this video? Who do you trust? What's your solution?

I mean Paul was a bounty hunter for Christians working for the Romans as a traitor to the rebel Semites in Palestine, then he feigns conversion perhaps from fear of being killed by the rebels (recall he is struck in Damascus when he arrives), so then spends time working against the Jews through Pauline Christianity which was hostile to Christ's teachings. He is finally shunned by all the Christians in Asia ang goes to Rome for trial. Even in the end, a Roman citizen.

Don't you mean Religion wedded to the Stae? Even if historical religion was polytheistic, then if it had a prophet like Apostle Paul teaching obedience to the state, the result would be the same, no?

People with a loyalty to a different religion than the governments are always considered a threat. That's why the Nazis went after the Jews, and the communist decided to ban any religion. Because they wanted no competition for loyalty. The Catholics separated god from the people and made the church the only bridge. The consept of interpreting god for yousef will inevitably lead you to conclude you should have the freedom to determine your political leadership. monotheism prevents this. |
