MikeThanks for your concern, and appreciate the advice. If you pay close attention the fish bites my hand and kicks away. You even get a glimpse of the fish lit up as it powers off.I am pretty certain that fish survived.Anyway, good to put it out there for all the anglers viewing this page.Cheers

Congratulations for you catch! It's awsome! I shall say though, the next time you better put much more effort in the release! Grab it by its bill until de fish recovers its blue colors, and swims straight! Releasing an exhausted fish the way you guys did has very poor chances of survival for the Marlin, and the one in your video it most probably died!Even though your intentions were good. And this Is just a tip for your next release! Congratulations againg for your catch!tight lines!

I caught a beautiful 257lb Pacific Blue Marlin on the 19th of June. One hour and fifteen minutes into the fight her heart failed and she was raised to the surface dead. I never got the chance to release her. I would love to exchange pictures if you have any spearintrevally at aol

Weak?On our first ever attempt at billfish, we catch and release a 100kg Black Marlin on 15kg tackle, all out of a 4.5m Bass Boat. Not sure where you are from geeee111, but from your comment sounds as though you are still trying to graduate from pre school catching slimy mackeral on handlines from your local jetty. Not that theres anything wrong with that.Keep persisting and you'll get there one day mate... one day. |
