There are a lot of pieces composed for Bb trumpet. But in, general, you need a C trumpet for music written in concert key, a D trumpet for music written for D trumpet, and so on...Otherwise, you have to transpose the part for Bb trumpet.For example, if a piece is written for C trumpet, and written in the key of C, you have to play it on the Bb trumpet in the Key of D (or transpose each note up 1 whole step.

Jazztrmpr94, if the piano or orchestra is playing say in the key of D, you would have to play in the key of E. So forth and so on, ok? I really liked Alison's music.
