Sontam-You are correct in your comment about others playing this music before him. I meant the first musician to really bring fusion to the forefront with a hard rock twist as well. Beck's style is very unique in a way.

...and btw, guess who the keyboeard player was on that Cobbham album...you guessed it...Jan Hammer!!!I did not come to this realization, myself, until a few years ago. i always thought that Beck was the first...BUT you know what...it doesn't really matter. beacause Wired and Blow By Blow will Always be the greatest fusion albums EVER!!

deejay0077...I want to start off as saying:"Beck is my favorite guitarist ever"...but he's not the first fusion guitarist. Return to Forever and Mahavishnu Orchestra was doing there thing before him. as a matter of fact, listen to Billy Cobbham's Spectrum...Tommy Bolin was playing some stuff that Jeff really like alot. And a few months later...Beck the blues master was dead, and Beck the fusion god was born!
