Hands down he was the greatest guitarest ever.The method he tought is praysed among musicians, even Chet Atkins called him the greatest, john Lenon called him the papa of the guitar.

I'd agree with you for the most part, that muscians both in rock and classical should be able to feed and grow off of each other. I will say this, there are some guys that are extremely talented when it comes to using outside influence in Heavy Metal. But...I feel like some musicians kind of...use the whole "neo-classical" thing as a sort of gimic. I feel like some of them either take themselves too seriously and make it kind of ridiculous, or don't take their music seriously enough.

Well said man.To really be the best possible musician you can be, you've gotta find styles and artists and ideas from every genre and area of music.I mean, it's totally cool if you want to play mainly one style, but you've gotta be open to influence from all around. If nothing else, it makes playing music alot more fun.
