Michael Brecker was actualy, and to a surprise for many, gay, he got infected by AIDS in such a young age and he could have probably succeeded if he only had gotten a little while longer to live, back in the home country, the AIDS took away many dreams.

Nice tribute, so many times I wished Mike would have played some slower stuff. here he does just that...he changed the course of my life musically in 77'when I was about to quit playing...I heard him playing. The rest is history...I guess I'm greatful to him for that. R.I.P.

Michael Brecker was and still is an inspiration. His music will always live on. He is a perfect example of someone who fights for their life and is in the music business for the love of the music and not the money or fame. For that he will live on!!!

I've come back to this song at times of death, happiness, sadness, love... its evokes so much with such a quiet song. Randy and Mike narrate everything with their fingers and lungs, in a way that few others ever could or ever will be.

His name is "Brecker" not "Breaker." Influence? True, Coltrane was huge. But I still say that BrEcker took all that Coltrane had to "say," and perfected it...
